Teens get outdoor experience
The groups of youngsters, aged between 15 and 17, have been taking part in the National Citizen Service Programme. Sessions included shelter building, trust exercises and a challenge to work as a team to create a functional chair and wheelbarrow.
A council spokeswoman said: “The programme is open to all 15-17 year olds and gives them valuable life skills, experiences and new friendships. In addition to local workshops, participants gain a week long residential course including adrenaline fuelled activities like rock climbing, abseiling and canoeing. They also work together on a community project.”
Places are still available for courses this summer. For more information and to apply for places, see https://www.peterborough.gov.uk/residents/youth-services/national-citizen-service/.
