Fortnite and Rocket League are two of the most popular video games in the world. Now they have announced a crossover event, complete with challenges and massive rewards. This is everything you need to know about the Llama-Rama, the crossover event celebrating Rocket League becoming free to play. What’s the event? Fortnite and Rocket League are teaming up to celebrate Rocket League becoming free to play with an event called Llama-Rama. The Llama-Rama event invites players to complete challenges to unlock rewards for both Rocket League and Fortnite. Rewards include the likes of Fortnite’s Battle Bus as a car body, llama-themed paint jobs, wheels and other accessories. What rewards are there? As part of the crossover event, Fortnite players will be able to claim Rocket League themed items, and Rocket League players will be able to claim Fortnite themed items upon completion of the challenges. Challenge one: Challenge two: Challenge three: Challenge four: Challenge five: How to claim rewards After successfully completing the Llama-Rama challenges, Rocket League players can view the Rocket League event challenge page to redeem their rewards. Alternatively, for Fortnite players, you’ll receive your challenge rewards after logging into Fortnite when each challenge is completed in Rocket League. Epic Games says, “You do not need to claim rewards in Fortnite to get your Fortnite items.” How to get involved Rocket League developer Psynoix was bought by Epic Games earlier this year, so all you have to do is link your Rocket League account to your Epic Games account to be ready to claim rewards in Rocket League and Fortnite. To do this, you’ll need to log into your Epic Games account (or create one). You’ll be prompted to do this anyway when you start up Rocket League for the first time after the update. From there, you’ll be asked to set a ‘primary platform’, which will be your source of progression (Rocket Pass Progress, Competitive Rank, XP Level) for all your connected platforms. “In other words, be sure to choose the platform where you have the most progress in Rocket Pass, and your highest Competitive Rank,” Rocket League explains. Once you’ve chosen your ‘primary platform’, you’ll be able to play with your Competitive Rank, and Rocket Pass progress, and XP Level on all other connected platforms. You’ll also be able to connect additional platforms you have to your Epic Games account on the Rocket League account linking page. Simply link your platforms using your PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch Online and Steam account login information and share progress. You can also choose one of these as your primary platform from the linking page. If you make a mistake or change your mind about which platform you want as your primary, you can unlink your platform and choose a different one - but you will not be able to link that platform to a different Epic Games Account. If you’ve linked platforms to your Epic Games Account in the past, you won’t need to do it again for Rocket League. When does the event start? The Llama-Rama kicks off on Saturday 26 September 2020 at 11pm in the UK, after the performance from Slushii has concluded in the Party Royale space. The crossover event will last until Monday 12 October. A version of this article originally appeared on our sister title Sunderland Echo
